Description

Make delicious use of your Zero-Waste Bread Crust Crumbs! This recipe makes enough to top a 9x13-in/23x33-cm casserole generously.

Ingredients
  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL/14 g) plant-based butter
  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL/14 g) olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL/14 g) minced garlic (or 3 cloves, minced)
  • 2 Tbsp (30 mL) dried parsley
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL/56 g) plain bread crumbs
  • 1 Tbsp (15mL) lemon zest (or 1/2 lemon, zested)
Instructions
  1. Heat butter and oil in a 10-in/25-cm frying pan over medium-low heat until butter is melted.

  2. Add garlic. Sauté 1 min, then add parsley. Stir until garlic is coated.

  3. Add bread crumbs. Toss until texture is uniform.

  4. Stir-in lemon zest, then remove from heat. Use as desired and enjoy!
